Sydney Family Photography ~ Making Chocolate brownies!

I made a vow this year to not only take the studio portraits of my children, but also to grab my camera and capture more of the every-day moments.

My daughter Alaina goes to pre-school four days a week - we have only one day that both Troy and Alaina are home together. So I try to make this day "fun".  Today, we made chocolate brownies.  With only 6 months left before Alaina heads off to school, I know that I will love looking back on these images and remembering this day.

Love That Prop - Loose Knit Wrap

This "My Favourite Things" Feature is the Loose Knit Wrap from Love that Prop.

One of the very first prop makers that I ever used was Love that Prop. I quickly became addicted to all of the gorgeous hand-made knit props.  The name behind the page is Shirls Chai and not only is she super talented and creative, but she is super lovely.  I love all of the items that Shirls makes, but her loose knit wraps are absolute MUSTS for your prop stash - I seriously use these wraps in every single session.

A SPECIAL OFFER FOR FANS!!!!

In a generous offer for Facebook fans of both Rebecca Connolly Photography and Love that Prop, Shirls has provided a discount code for use in her store.  Just enter the code "Rebecca15" to receive 15% discount off your order.  The code is valid until 20 August 2013.  We are trusting that you will "like" both of our Facebook pages (in case you have not already!) before you use the code.  Also, I would love it if you could leave a comment here on my blog or my Facebook page - thanks!

Now ....... the interview:-

Q.  When did you start Love that Prop and what prompted you to open the store?

Firstly, thank you so much for featuring Love That Prop on your beautiful blog, Rebecca. Love That Prop started way back in June 2011. Before Love That Prop, I was selling my own hand-dyed and hand-spun yarns on etsy and my main customers were prop-makers from the USA or Canada. I noticed there was a market here in Australia and hence, Love That Prop was born. I love to finally have the opportunity to work with my own handmade yarns and seeing beautiful photos of adorable newborns wearing or using my creations definitely makes me happy :)

Q.  Out of all of the colours of your loose knit wraps, do you have a favourite one?

This is a difficult question to answer! My favourite colour changes all the time, especially after I see how each colour looks in my customers' beautiful images. At the moment, it is seafoam because I'm looking forward to spring arriving in Australia :)

Q.  You have some new products in your store, tell us about those.

Even though our loose knit luxury wraps are our bestsellers, I have recently added more wraps with lace knit wraps for customers who are looking for wraps with more textures and patterns. I'm constantly trying to add new exciting products to the store purely because I love to experiment with new yarns and I get bored doing the same things. I do get excited when customers offer ideas or suggestions of what they would like to see from us.

Q.  We want to get to know you, so which are you:-  Day/Night, Jeans/Skirt,  White/Black, Tea/Coffee, Cat/Dog, Sun/Moon, Beach/Forest, Indoor/Outdoor, Books/Movies, Walking/Swimming, Sweet/Sour

Night - I'm totally a night owl. I feel most relaxed in the evening and most of my work is done after the kids have gone to bed.
Jeans- I live in them.
Black - even though I can't wear it much as I will be picking fluff/fibres off them all day!
Coffee - my kryptonite.
Cat- LOVE our ginger boy.
Sun - Sunshine makes me happy!
Beach and Forest:)
Indoor and Outdoor:)
Books - Wish I have more time to read.
Walking and swimming - Wish I have more time for them too!
Sour - I don't have much of a sweet tooth.
